Eclipse Shutters in Shingle Springs
For this project, we installed Eclipse Shutters in Shingle Springs. This beautiful home is located in Cameron Estates, a quiet neighborhood with large shade trees. I appreciated setting up the work table below a massive Oak tree.
Our customer was looking for relief from the heat of the sun. They have a long hallway with west facing windows. Not only that, the windows had nothing on them. So, the afternoon and evening heat was causing their hallway to warm their home.
The Details
The home has Eclipse Shutters installed throughout, so the customer asked us to match their existing shutters. We matched their modern style frame, called a Bullnose Z Frame. This frame is smooth with a rounded corner, so it offers a low profile and sleek look. Next, we matched their 4 ½” louvers. This louver size looks beautiful throughout their home. Not only that, they provide a clearer view through your window, with more space between louvers.
For this project, we used a split tilt. That means the top half of the shutter can remain tilted open, while the bottom half is closed. Or, vice-versa. This is beneficial for maintaining your view or light from the upper half of the window. In addition, it blocks heat and offers privacy along the bottom half of the window. Not only that, we can split the tilt on your shutters without using a divider rail.
Next, we had several doors to cover with our Eclipse Shutters in Shingle Springs. For doors, we use an L Frame. In this situation, we needed to use build-out frame pieces. That is because the doors had existing trim around the windows. In addition, The shutter panels for these doors required divider rails because of their height.
You can see how much light and heat these shutters block in the before-and-after photos. Eclipse Shutters are a beautiful addition to any home!
