Shutters and Shades Together!
Shutters and shades installed together can have a stunning effect! For this window covering project in Ione, we combined banded Dual Shades with Eclipse Shutters. As you can see, the banded shades compliment the look of the shutter louvers next to them. Dual Shades are made with alternating bands of fabric and sheer, so there are horizontal lines created when the shade is closed. Shutter louvers create a similar look when they are closed. So, it is good to consider the size of your fabric bands when pairing dual shades with shutters. For example, if your dual shades have larger bands of fabric, you might choose a 4 1/2″ louver shutter.
Living Room Sliding Doors
Many homes in Ione have wide, three-sectioned living room sliding doors. Oversized sliding doors like these require special consideration. Sometimes, bypass shutters of this size can put a project over budget. So, we have many options for shades over large sliding doors. This customer liked the idea of banded Dual Shades side-by-side with their Eclipse shutters. Because these are tall shades, we suggested automated controls. Power Wands are rechargeable controls that hang from the shade, similar to how a tilt wand hangs. You can hold the up button for a second to raise the shade completely. Alternatively, if you hold the down button for a second it will lower the shade completely. In addition, you can program your favorite position. So, the shade will move to your favorite position at the push of a button!

When selecting window treatments for bedrooms or studies, privacy and room darkening features are a must-have. With Eclipse Shutters, you can block the light and achieve complete privacy by simply tilting the louvers closed. With banded Dual-Shades, we offer room darkening fabrics. However, keep in mind that Dual-Shades feature alternating bands of opaque and sheer fabric. So, a dim light will still pass through the space between fabric. You can see below, the room darkening fabric blocks most of the light. However, it also creates a unique light profile. Although these shades are ‘Room-Darkening’, they are definitely not black-out!
